Dennis "Denny" Stockamp, 75, of Sturgeon Lake died at home on Jan. 24, 2025. Denny was born on March 2, 1949 to Donna (Thompson) and George Stockamp. He attended school in Willow River, MN and following graduation enlisted in the US Army, serving in Germany and Vietnam. After returning home, he worked construction for several years and then for the US Postal Service as a rural carrier. On August 20, 1982, he married Joan Von Rueden. Denny's greatest joy was the outdoors. For many years, Joan and Denny spent much of their time fishing, hunting and going on camping trips with family. In later years when they decided they should probably be done with tents, they started going on meandering road trips often to Montana, Nevada, Arizona and Florida and enjoying many stops along the way. He was preceded in death by his parents: Donna and George, brother: Mark Stockamp, in-laws: Red and Fern Von Rueden, and brother-in-law and friend: Larry Sigurdson. Survived by his wife Joan, who will forever hold him in her heart; sisters: Cin- dy (Harvey) Hischer, Debbie (Joel) Callahan, Robyn Sigurdson, and Becky Stockamp; brothers: Dean (Charie) Stockamp and Casey Stockamp; In-laws: Sandy (Jim) Sikkink and Alan Von Rueden; many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. In Denny's last years he faced the many challenges of Alzheimer's disease. We want to thank our family and friends and all the amazing people we met through the services of St. Croix Hospice. A special thanks to everyone who was ever a member of Denny's care team with St Croix. This group of knowledgeable, com- passionate, and dedicated people helped us navigate the challenges of this disease, and their assistance and guidance is what made it possible for Denny to remain at home. For all of you, we will be forever grateful. In accordance with Denny and Joan's wishes, there will be no formal services. Instead, they envisioned a "5 o'clock anywhere" tribute. On Saturday, February 8, 2025, family and friends, wherever you may be, are invited to pause at 5 o'clock, raise a glass, and make a toast to a life well lived and deeply loved. Thank you for joining us in celebrating Denny's memory. Arrangements by Hamlin-Hansen-Kosloski Funeral Home, Moose Lake.
