Michael "Mike" Calvin Schneider, from Sandstone, MN, passed away on Sunday, August 11, 2024, surrounded by loved ones in his home, Michael peacefully left us at the age of 72. Born on March 14, 1952, in St. Paul, MN, Michael graduated from Finlayson High School as a proud member of the Class of 1970. After graduation, he bravely served in the Army, stationed in Germany. In July 1975, he tied the knot with his beloved Big Pine Lake girl, Melissa, in Finlayson, sharing nearly five decades of marriage. In his free time, Mike enjoyed hunting and fishing, finding solace in nature. He was an active member of the American Legion and the Finlayson-Giese Sportsman's Club, where he found camaraderie and joy. Michael was preceded in death by his daughter, Carla; parents, Leslie and Muriel Schneider; grandparents, Sylvester and Rosa Petry, Frank and Elva Schneider; and his mom and dad-in-law, Mary and Carl Rudich. Michael is survived by his loving wife, Melissa; sons, Calvin (Elizabeth) of Bloomington, Michael Mengual of Fremont, Nebraska; grandsons, Lucas Schneider of St. Joseph; Wyatt Hammel of Spring Grove; brother, Jerry (Marie); sisters, Penny (Dan) Maki, Barb (Bill) Morgan, Sue (Toby) Piha, Nancy (Dean) Pogatchnik, Judy Schneider; brothers in law, Bill (Cindy) Rudich, Carl (Bryon) Rudich, Joseph (Margaret) Rudich; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and his special aunties, Yvonne Cottrell and Juanita Johnson. A celebration of life for Mike will be held from 1pm to 4pm on Saturday, Sept 28, 2024, at the Finlayson-Giese Sportsman's Club.
