Harold William Kamppi, age 93, of Moose Lake passed away on Sunday, September 8, 2024 surrounded by family at home. Harold was born on January 26, 1931 in Pence, WI to Reverend William and Hilma Kamppi. He attended school in Pence, WI, Ironwood, MI and graduated from Austin, MN in 1949. Harold married his high school sweetheart Jean Kjarum July 26, 1952. He graduated from North Central University in 1953. Harold was the pastor of churches in New York Mills, MN from 1953-1957, Moose Lake, MN from 1957-1962 and Barnum, MN from 1971-present. He was the state Youth and Christian Education Director for the MN Assemblies of God from 1963-1966, nursing home administrator in Hettinger, ND from 1967-1968 and Stillwater, MN from 1969-1971. He was also a field representative with Marilyn Hickey Ministries of Denver. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping, as well as, spending time at the cabin with extended family and the grandchildren. Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Reverend William and Hilma Kamppi; wife, Jean (Kjarum); daughter, Brenda Jean; siblings, Alice, Florence, Irene, Richard and Henry; and great-grandson, Jaden River. He will be missed by his daughters, Idell (Paul) Ward and Gwen Young; grandchildren, Ryan (Shawnah) Stelly, Bianca Stelly, Jonathan (Sarah) Kamppi, Matthew (Sarah) Young, Jerry (Hannah) Young, and Stacy (Bjorn) Young; and great-grandchildren, Stella Jean, Chasin, Jennifer, Calvin, Nora, and Thomas. We will be having a time of visiting with you at Family Worship Church, 4580 Arrowhead Lane - formerly Moose Lake Assembly of God Church on Monday evening, September 16th from 6 pm to 8pm. The following day, Tuesday, September 17th at Atkins-Northland Funeral Home, 801 14th Street, Clo- quet, MN 55720, there will be a time to visit at 10am with the funeral at 11am, luncheon to follow.
