Purpose of the Position: The Student Engagement Specialist works to improve student attendance by building positive relationships with students and families, identifying barri- ers to attendance, and coordinating supports that promote consistent school participation. This position focuses on proactive engagement, early intervention, and collaboration to ensure all students have access to learning opportunities. Primary Responsibilities: Attendance Monitoring & Intervention Family & Student Engagement Collaboration & Team Support Compliance & Documentation Prevention & School Climate Qualifications: Associate's or Bachelor's degree Experience working with youth and families S EAST CENTRAL EAGLES Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills Ability to build trust and maintain confidentiality Knowledge of attendance laws and school systems preferred Valid driver's license Skills & Competencies: Relationship-building and cultural responsiveness Conflict resolution and de-escalation Data tracking and organization Collaboration and teamwork Persistence and empathy when working with challenging situations Working Conditions: Work is performed in school settings, community locations, and occasionally in students' homes Flexible schedule may be required to meet with families outside of regular school hours Salary/Contract: AFSCME Class IV, $19.42-$21.96 per hour depending upon experience, 6.25 hours daily.
